I am the programmer and "house caller" for the First, Third, and Fifth Wednesday BACDS Contra Dance. The dance is held at the North Grace Church, 2138 Cedar Street, in Berkeley. The dance goes from 8:00 - 10:30 pm, and costs $9 ($7 for BACDS or other CDS members). We always have live music, and almost always have an open band format, a chance to play with the experts. Usually the Fifth Wednesdays (four a year) are open callers' nights -- come try calling a dance!

CAMPS

Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddle Week — August 26 - September 3, 2005
Held outside of Santa Cruz, near Boulder creek, VOM is a wonderful week of immersion into Fiddle Music. Erik will be making sure the evening dances and parties are fun, and mealtime concerts are heard. This years main teachers are Alisdair Fraser, Rodney Miller, and Jennifer Wrigley. This is a great camp for musicians of all levels, even rank beginners. Lots of great music and great teaching. This year there will also be classes in piano, guitar, mandolin & bouzouki, and percussion.

Buffalo Gap American Dance Weekend — September 16 — 18, 2005
Join us in West Virginia for a wonderful weekend of music and dance with The Hillbillies from Mars and The Reckless Ramblers with Susan Taylor calling, too!

Lady of the Lake Fall Weekend — September 30 — October 2, 2005
Two Callers named Erik -- with a 'k,' no less! Myself and Erik Weberg. And two great bands! Lift Ticket and Jigsaw. Held on the shores of the beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene, in Western Idaho, a great time will be had by all.
